About the Founder Wendy Jenkins
Wendy Jenkins has been an Indianapolis Indiana based Child Care Owner for over 20 years. During such time Wendy has conversed with many parents in the Indianapolis area, many of whom have been interested in getting back into the job world. The issue Wendy found was that there was a lack of quality community resources that helped these parents get back into the new and modern-day job atmosphere that they have been displaced from for some time. Naturally, Jenkins believed that she could acquire the necessary resources, tools, and experienced personnel, to create the Jenkins' Career Corner, INC; a non-profit program that helps adults gain their footing and get the necessary help to spring back into a fulfilling career.
Mission
The mission of the Youth Career Center is grounded in five pro-active principals that establish the core purpose of the workforce development program. These principals include:
1. To encourage career exploration and self-awareness through identification of individual assets, skills, needs, and employment and education goals.
2. To promote youth as essential participants in the workforce.
3. To support youth in a positive environment to make educated decisions about their current and future employment opportunities. Assist youth through a network of partners, to deal with any barriers to achieving their goals.
4. To teach work readiness skills that prepare youth for success in the workforce and the skills to conduct their own job search as needed in the future.
5. To provide information, assessments, workshops, resource tools, case management, job development, education and training referrals.

Testimonial
Scott LewisParts SpecialistThe Jenkins Career Center helped me get back on my feet again after taking a break from school and the work force for a while. Their knowledgeable team of personnel helped me create an up-to-date resume, practiced interview skills with me, and even lined up an interview within my desired field. I got hired within 3 weeks of walking through the doors of the career center and I could not be more grateful!
